R3D File Structure
This section describes the R3D file structure on an SSD:
- RDM Folder
- RDC Folder
- R3D
- RMD: RMD files are created when you open an R3D file in REDCINE-X PRO and make a change to the clip.
- mxf: Only available on DSMC2® cameras
- mov: On DSMC2 cameras, the mov file is an Apple® ProRes file. On RED ONE®, the mov file is a QuickTime R3D reference. EPIC/SCARLET cameras do not create mov files.
NOTE: DSMC cameras split each clip (regardless of recording to R3D or a third-party codec) into multiple 4 GB clips. RED ONE cameras split each clip (regardless of recording to R3D or a third-party codec) into multiple 2 GB clips.
