R3D File Structure
This section describes the R3D file structure on an SSD:
- .RDM Folder
- .RDC Folder
- .R3D
- .RMD
- .mxf (only available on DSMC2® cameras)
- .mov
NOTE: The .mov file is an Apple® ProRes file on DSMC2 cameras. The .mov file is a QuickTime R3D reference on RED ONE®. The .mov file is not available on EPIC/SCARLET cameras.
NOTE: DSMC cameras split each clip (regardless of recording to R3D or a third-party codec) into multiple 4 GB clips. RED ONE cameras split each clip (regardless of recording to R3D or a third-party codec) into multiple 2 GB clips.
NOTE: RMD files are created when you open an R3D file in REDCINE-X PRO and make a change to the clip.
